About

It is hard to put me in a box

My name is Deanna. I was born in the Midwest, shaped by my experiences as a military spouse, and transformed by my family and the people of my new home state, Maryland. I am a wife, mother of seven and a veteran home educator heading into my twenty-seventh (and last) year homeschooling. I am a James Martin Catholic. I am concerned with social justice issues, especially racial inequality. I love to be outdoors hiking, gardening, camping or just walking around my neighborhood. I am trying to reflect on the experiences of teaching my children at home. What in the world should I be doing next?

I made it through! My youngest is in high school and after taking a year to think, and pray, I am back in school myself, seeking that degree I started in 1984 and never finished!
