Saturday of the first week
Moses speaks to the people in Deuteronomy 26: 16-19. The Study Bible says it is a, “ completion and explanation of the law proclaimed on Mount Sinai.”
“And today the Lord is making this agreement with you: you are to be a people peculiarly his own, as he promised you; and provided you keep all his commandments, he will then raise you on high… you will be a people Sacred to the Lord…”
It gives me great comfort to hear the words of Moses. A wonderful sense of belonging accompanies the words, “peculiarly his own!” I belong to the Lord!
I have only to do my part by following the commandments.
Lord, help me to walk in your ways. Make me holy this Lent. Draw me close to you, so I can be among the, “people Sacred to the Lord.”
