Genesis 12: 1-4 “The Lord said to Abram: ‘Go forth from the land of your kinsfolk and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you. “
I have been asked, in my life, to ‘leave the land of my kinsfolk.’ My husband was in the military and we moved all over the world for twenty years. It was a good, but difficult life. It was hard to pack up and move, every time.
We don’t hear how Abram felt about this move, we just know, “Abram went as the Lord directed him.”
Sometimes God is asking us to leave the land of our kinfolk metaphorically. He sets a path before us, and we have no choice but to follow his command.
I am 57 years old, and even now I am being called to new life.
